An Inspiring Touchdown

Thank you to Anthony Zanin for sharing this inspiring story with me!

There is a teenager named Trent Glaze who is a senior at Fairfield Union in Ohio and he's been using a wheelchair for the last 10 years because he has muscular dystrophy. The young man loves football and has been a manager for the school's football team for the past few years. After attending every team practice and function, he was invited to be on the team this year and serve as team captain.

Glaze's dream was to participate in a game. This dream came true. Moments after his team lost a game to Teay's Valley, both teams remained on the field so that Fairfield Union could run one more play: a handoff to Glaze. Glaze, dressed in full uniform and pads, took the handoff in his wheelchair and scooted into the end zone for a touchdown.

Check out the video for the play, here.

This story reminded me how there are success stories out there. We should not be constantly reminded of the terrible acts that go on in this world daily. It is always nice to be reminded that the world has people that strive to do good. The football players on that field made Glaze's dream come true.

Make it your goal to be a person that creates inspiration.

Do not take the route that is commonly traveled, go where there is no route and make your own.
