Be Remembered

Take a moment to read this:

Make choices that make you happy, be who you want to be. 'Cause in the end, we all die...and the goal isn't to live forever, but to create something that will.

Why not? Be remembered. My father's cousin once told me something that was very interesting. Mind you, he is a big believer in ghosts (which I am, in a way). He said that once we die, we become a ghost, and we move on to the afterlife once every single person that every knew of us died too.

So, for example, George Washington (or any president for that matter) will always be a ghost because someone will always "know of them." Good thing for him, who knows?

But, regardless of your belief in an afterlife or not (or ghosts for that matter), this is quite the thought provoking theory.

One may look at it this way: be remembered, and be a ghost for all of eternity and get to forever be with all other ghosts and anyone still alive on earth. Getting confusing, huh? BUT! What if becoming a ghost is the afterlife? If it was me, I would take the chance of becoming a ghost if it meant being remembered.

How about you? In the end, it cannot hurt to live your life with the goal of wanting to make a positive difference in the world. Yes, some people are remembered for negative actions, but not everyone.

If you are able to make a difference in one persons life every day, I would say you were pretty damn successful. It's as easy as a smile, wave, or hug.

Yes, it can be a struggle to make a difference. But, it is not always impressive when people are completely convinced they are about to change the world. It is far more impressive by those people that struggle to make one small difference.

The change you want to see begins with you. Do not me mistaken, never think that you can never do enough to make an impact.

Dare to reach our your hand into the darkness, to pull another hand into the light.
